Rosacea Rosacea is an acne like eruption affecting over 14 million Americans. Rosacea can present with redness of the central face, cheeks and nose, presenting with small blood vessels and or white bumps and pustules. Rosacea can affect the eyes, leading to red eye and more dangerous eye inflammation. Rosacea is treated, but not cured. The treatments include topical or oral antibiotics, as well as certain sulfur containing compounds. One of the newer treatments is azaleic acid. Your treatment depends on your doctors impression of the rosacea severity. For more information on rosacea, visit the National Rosacea Society. |
